More Affordable Than An RTX 3090 Ti Anyways
The MSI GeForce RTX 3050 GAMING X and the SAPPHIRE PULSE Radeon RX 6600 GAMING are on the test bench over at The FPS Review. The two cards are selling for an average of $400 and sport similar VRAM as is the TDP, so with MSRP out of the way the two cards are competitors. You will of course see moderately better ray tracing support o n the NVIDIA card, though not too much as the RTX 3050 is not in the same class as higher end RTX cards. AMD’s CAS is now available, and is tested along with FSR and DLSS.
The first set of benchmarks shows a large lead by AMD’s card but once you bring in ray tracing that changes completely, though as expected both cards struggle to reach playable framerates. The full review awaits, with strong evidence that the RX 6600 is the better choice all around, at least with prices as they are now.
